Come to see Dave Adams and his traveling Peak Oil demonstration, Monday May 21, 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 5515 Phinney Ave. N.
Dave Adams from Seattle Peak Oil is going to present a PowerPoint presentation on how the world is changing before our eyes — dramatically, inevitably, and irreversibly.

The industrial civilization is based on the consumption of a limited quantity of energy resources that is about to become scarce. When they do, competition for what remains will trigger dramatic, economic and geopolitical events; in the end, it may be impossible for even a single nation to sustain industrialism, as we have known it during the 20th Century.

The change we are seeing is affecting more people, and more profoundly, than any that human beings have ever witness. This reality is driving terrorism, war, economic swings, climate change, and more. How are we as neighbors going to deal with this eventuality? Is it possible to work together to create a way to sustain life in a satisfying way? Positive change starts with concerned neighbors, as a community, acting together.

This project is funded in part by neighbors matching grant award from City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods and is a project of Phinney Ecovillage.
