Undoubtedly the Parks Department will post the lake for skating, discouraging visitors from testing the ice. It hasn't worked very well in the past, though, and it's been so many years since the lake completely iced over that a lot of curiosity- and thrill-seekers will undoubtedly ignore the signs.
